3D digital twin for the Seven Kings Hub, an upcoming community-building project aimed at improving local living standards and amenities.
The primary goal of the 3D digital twin was to create an interactive platform that allows the community to explore and influence the design of the upcoming Seven Kings Hub. By involving residents in the decision-making process, the project sought to gather valuable insights and data that would help optimize the building's design and amenities to better serve the community.
To achieve this goal, Sector4 Interactive utilized the Unity for Web platform to develop the 3D Digital Twin application. Unity is a popular game engine that offers powerful 3D rendering capabilities and a user-friendly interface for creating interactive experiences. By using Unity for Web, the team was able to create a high-quality, responsive application that could be accessed from any device with a web browser. The configurator application allows users to navigate through a 3D model of the Seven Kings Community Hub, which includes various rooms and common areas. Users can select different elements of the building, such as walls and floors, and customize their appearance using a variety of options. For example, users can change the color of the tiles in the bathroom or select different types of furniture for the living room. Additionally, users can change the layout of specific rooms, such as moving walls or adding windows.
The 3D digital twin of the Seven Kings Hub successfully engaged the community, providing a platform for residents to actively participate in the design process. The feedback collected through the platform was invaluable, offering insights that led to several design modifications to better suit community needs. The project demonstrated the power of digital technology in urban planning and community engagement, setting a precedent for future initiatives. By enabling a transparent and inclusive process, the London Borough of Redbridge was able to build a facility that truly reflects the aspirations and preferences of its residents.
