The project aimed to develop an engaging installation that highlights water scarcity through interactive technology. It sought to create an immersive experience using motion tracking, encourage empathy and understanding of the issue, and deliver a memorable and impactful message about water conservation.
The installation utilized Microsoft Kinect's hand tracking technology and Unity to create a real-time interactive experience. Users' hand movements were tracked and used to transform sketch images into colorful visuals, symbolizing the positive impact of increased awareness and action on water scarcity.
The installation effectively engaged participants, making the issue of water scarcity more relatable and impactful. The transformation from sketches to colors provided a memorable experience, showcasing the power of interactive technology in fostering empathy and supporting DIHAD’s mission to promote water conservation.
